(aka the most meaningless news from 2020)

This was the year I made this site, replacing my old site Catpage, on August 14th. I spent most of it learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also first released Bienvenido: the game lol on this site on August 18th, though it was only avaiable from the misc page.
For a while, the only pieces of content on the front page were Milk Man: Shit Edition, hlcomic, and a link to the misc page. Despite Josh Dumb and Crap OS being released prior to the site's creation, I didn't put them here for a while because I wasn't sure how to implement game maker html5 games on the site.
As far as site stats go, soupy cartoon had 6977 hits, 4 neocities followers (frisout, hotlinecafe, joellmadrid, and dann), 15 bienvenido downloads, and 9 milk man shit edition downloads as of November 23rd.
I failed to archive a few things I made this year, including the old halloween theme.
I also started work on guyman and an album this year, but neither were finished.

Guyman is going to take longer than I thought it would to finish. I haven't implemented a music maker/player yet. I made good progress on it though.Check it out here.
I updated the site's look because I thought it looked too generic before. This just makes it more generic though probably.
I'll go back to updating the site more often because guyman takes a long time to develop. Right now I'm making an archive of my old work to put up here.

I added the light realm to the site, you can find that by going through a portal on the soup page. I won't be adding anything to the misc page for now.I'm getting better at javascript, and I hope to finish guyman soon. I get off from school because of Christmas so I should have enough time to do that.
I'm also going to try to make an album out of midis. I'm not that good at making music so it will probably fail, but it will be an interesting kind of fail.
Also I learned how to use AJAX.

Next update I will release guyman and other js scripts and my album if it's finished by then.

I rewrote the html for every single page on the site.I'm tired.
Also I started making music again, this time in the form of midis. Maybe I'll put some on this site one day.
This news page is starting to get really long also, I think each year will have its own news page with all of the stuff written that year. If that makes the pages too long I'll probably split it into two pages per year.
Regarding random changes, I erased the "thanks for reading" from hlcomic because fuck you for reading it, and added a secret in it.

I updated the look of the home page again.Unsurprisingly, weekly updates aren't gonna work out. For a while I've just been adding random stuff to the misc page and haven't made any content for the front page. I'm still working on that javascript game I mentioned earlier and it's starting to actually look like a game now.
Really the only reason why I chose to learn javascript was because neocities doesn't let you upload game maker html5 games to your websites. I was too lazy to pay 5 or so dollars and get a supporter account which lets you do that so I just took on this huge task of making a game from scratch in js out of nowhere, so the fact that I'm starting to get somewhere is a pretty big accomplishment for me.
You can go look at the game in the alpha state of development. The work in progress name is guyman. I came up with that name when I was half asleep.

I want to work on projects that take a long time also and I don't have enough time to churn out fully featured updates on the weekends so that's the main reason why weekly updates won't happen. In the meantime, I still have a lot of minor pages too add so I'll work on those and guyman at once.

I added the "random" and "soup" sections and made the navigation bar a bit more noticable. Also the site has a halloween theme now.It's pretty bad.
I was planning on joining webrings a while ago but I think my site being on it's own little random/obscure space on the internet is fitting, at least for now. I haven't added many secret pages yet, so I should go do that. They might be up at the time of writing this. I really want to update this place more, we'll see if I can update once a week if I work hard enough. (I can somewhat tell at the time of writing this that it's not gonna work out)
Though this site started as a place for stupid and bad stuff I make, I don't want to make EVERYTHING horrible and unappealing so there'll probably be a shift towards more weird/abstract content here in the next few months. I'm not getting rid of any stupid and bad stuff here though like Milk Man, and speaking of that I'm not sure if the sequel will be a jam game because maybe it should be fleshed out better.
Also I learned how to move html elements with js:
Still haven't learned AJAX though.

The site turned a month old a little while ago. It feels like it's been a longer amount of time than that and a shorter amount at the same time.Anyways, I updated the site again so yay. School has started for me but that doesn't mean I'll churn out less updates I was just being lazy and didn't update the site for 19 days. Oops.
That javascript game I was working on isn't going to see the light of day though that's only because I only had a loose foundation of what to base it upon and decided to not start development and waste time on it. I'm still going to make other stuff in javascript though hopefully soon.
In the mean time, I've added an old comics archive here which hlcomic was based off of and tweaked some things here and there. I still have a lot of ideas for this site and I don't think I'll run out any time soon.

I changed the bienvenido download to mediafire like I said I would so I could see the number of downloads and 4 people have downloaded since that happened meanwhile milk man: shit edition has 0 downloads. I'm not really surprised because milk man is a game that's just way too awful to look at/play.Right now I'm working on various site tweaks and a new game for the site written in js. After I finish that game I'll make another game for newgrounds and then work on more content for this site.

The website redisign/overhaul is finally finished and online. I want to add a latest news section to the home page but right now I'm still trying to wrap my head around AJAX. Ok now I'm gonna start writing actual important news, so I'm gonna have to change the news headline on the home page to something else other than MINDBLOWING NEWS.I decided to add an old game I made in july to the website called Bienvenido: the game lol and it's optimised pretty badly so I spent the whole day yesterday optimising it and I finally finished doing so.
I might add more content to it, but that would require me to rewrite the map editor to be compatible with the newly optimised game and doing that would take at least 2 days so I'm just gonna work on finishing the redesign for this website right now.
